Our age can be determined by the ways in which we allow ourselves to play. —Louis Walsh—
Too few of us laugh as heartily as we might. We often fail to see the humorous side of our lives. So we respond gravely to most situations, certain that a serious perspective is called for. When we are unaware, it seems, that we’re charged only with living responsibly. Never are we asked to be solely serious. Any situation is easier to handle if our response is light-hearted. Laughter and playfulness ease the tensions inherent in certain circumstances. Taking life seriously doesn’t mean living less responsibly. Rather, it means freeing ourselves from the negative forces that may well encumber the circumstances facing us presently. It’s difficult even to recall what tripped me last week, and this fact alone should bring relief while I’m looking at today’s potential hazards.
