Our Folded Hands

Women helping Women. Reaching out to the Sister who still suffers. Helping each other through the Good times and the Difficult times. To get to the SOBER way of life, One Day at a Time.

Promise of a new Day

My mission on earth is to fill the void—inside and outside of me—and fill it. —Rabbi Menahem—

Emptiness often haunts us. The alienation we feel that accompanies us to work, to parties, even among friends, is letting us know that we need to nurture our inner-selves. Within in each of us lives the small child who feels fear,

fear about a particular outcome, or our ability to handle a situation. As we practice caring for our inner child in all of our experiences we’ll discover a spiritual strength and a calmness that eluded us in the past. Consciously developing a connection to the inner child at first lessens the brunt of the external world, then removes it. The spirit-child becomes our strength and our hope when we turn to it. It fills us; it comforts us as we confront it. We no longer doubt our place in this life. If I go within today to offer comfort, I’ll find it. I will not feel alone or fearful if I reach within and take the hand of strength.
