Our Folded Hands

Women helping Women. Reaching out to the Sister who still suffers. Helping each other through the Good times and the Difficult times. To get to the SOBER way of life, One Day at a Time.

Promise of a new Day

We should have much peace if we would not busy ourselves with the sayings and doings of others. —Thomas A. Kempis—

We can go forth peacefully today if we pay close attention to our inner urgings; they will direct our steps safely and justly. The choice is forever ours

to respect this inner voice—rather than be nudged off course or have our progress severely hindered by the strength of another’s self-serving tug.
Action that is clearly our own, rather than reaction to another’s laments, is certain to bring personal satisfaction. This will strengthen even more the connection between the self we offer to the world and the voice that nurtures, guides, and safeguards us from within. With practice we will develop an appreciation for all the people in our lives, and yet be free of their influence when it’s not complementary to our own efforts. Taking full responsibility for who we are and where we are going is exhilarating. But even more, it’s the only way we’re certain of arriving at our most meaningful destination.
I will listen and respect the men and women I meet today, but I will be most attentive to the friend within.
