Every worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph;
a beginning, a struggle, and a victory. —Anonymous—
Every goal that offers us pleasure upon completion has triggered periods of pain. The lessons we need to learn are seldom simple.
Nonetheless, our development has relied on successfully tackling them. We can be certain that goals we are inspired to set for ourselves are tied
closely to the lessons we’re in this life to learn. It’s not unusual for us to want an easier life, one free from turmoil and pain. We’d rather not know
that a life with no bumps falls short of the fulfillment we desire. But it does. We need struggles to stretch our capabilities. We need sorrow to appreciate the laughter. We need boredom to discover joy in small blessings.
Every worthy task will avail us of opportunities to grow, to think new thoughts, and to hone the skills we already possess. Every worthy task is
destined to clear new ground for us. Today I can celebrate, I’m on the road to victory. Every step leads towards the goal I’ve chosen.
