Promise of a new Day

The way in which we think of ourselves has everything to do with how our world sees us and how we can see ourselves,

successfully acknowledged by that world. —Arlene Raven—

…Our self-perception determines how we present ourselves. The posture we’ve assumed invites others’ praise, interest, or criticism. What others think of us accurately reflects our personal self-assessment, a message we’ve conveyed directly or subtly. It should behoove us to acknowledge the power we each master over others’ judgments and opinions of our worth. It’s with absolute certainty that those opinions are molded by our own. When our personal opinions are negative, its likely to be because we’ve lost touch with the rhythm of this life we’re sharing with others. Perhaps we’ve forgotten what is essential to the completion of the whole. Perhaps a gentle reminder is needed, day by day. How I grade myself today will be imitated by the men and women who share my experiences. I can earn high marks if I want to.
